Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the Exchequer, has recently launched his Levelling up Fund, designed to improve the infrastructure of everyday life across Britain.
This is part of Boris Johnson's wider agenda of improving the general standard of living for people in disadvantaged areas around the country, not just in London.
The Chancellor has recently confirmed that local areas will be able to bid for funds to build the facilities most wanted by local people, such as upgraded railway stations, transport improvements, better shopping streets, libraries, museums or galleries. This will lead to greater employment and business investment/opportunities, over time.
